For 2024 we have two events which will run in parallel. Our traditional event is for those just beginning the game with no handicap or a handicap above 28. Our more recent addition is for young golfers with a World Handicap System handicap between 14 and 28.

The Wales Mini Masters is open to all young golfers that are not members of a golf club or have recently joined a golf club but have not yet obtained a handicap of below 28.

We are delighted to welcome back Volvik as supporters of the Wales Mini Masters. Within each qualifying round we will be incorporating the Volvik Challenge. We return to Machynys Golf Club for our Final.

Each qualifying round will be split into the following categories:-

Male and female as at 1st September 2023

• 7 and under (pupils, in the current school year, who are in Year 2 and below)

• 8 – 9 (pupils, in the current school year, who are in Years 3 & 4)

• 10 – 11 (pupils, in the current school year, who are in Years 5 & 6)

• 12 plus (Year 7 and above)

The best score from each qualifying round, in each category, will be invited to the Final. Once the qualifying rounds have been completed additional  invitations will be extended for the best runners up.

Entry is a one off payment of £8.00 per player per qualifying round which goes to cover the administration of the event.

Each entry is inclusive of a new Volvik Golf Ball and a Wales Mini Masters branded accessory.

All hosting courses are providing Courtesy of the Course.

There will be a nearest the pin challenge at each qualifying round – The Volvik Challenge – the winner will be invited to The Final.

Each of our venues are perfect for those new to the game of golf. Holes are generally between 40 – 200 yards in length and the course will be set up specifically with young beginner golfers in mind and take into consideration prevailing on the day conditions.

We would also like to thank Ron Skinner and Sons and Asbri Golf for their ongoing commitment and sponsorship.
